Avoid These 5 Money Traps When Beginning Internet Marketing

Making money on the Internet is hard enough when starting out without a bunch of people out there just waiting to con money away from beginners or those who push canned programs designed to separate the Beginner from his or her money.

So I sat down and made up this list of 5 things you should watch out for when getting started in Internet Marketing. They may not be scams, but they are designed to get your money. Many times there are cheaper or even free alternatives to these systems. Some may just be too difficult for Beginners to master. So, without further ado, here is my list of 5 things Beginning Internet Marketers should avoid when starting out.

One thing that I would suggest Beginners to avoid is a program called Site Build It. It also goes by the name of SBI or sitesell.com. This program has been around many years, which just goes to prove that good marketing to an unsuspecting consumer group is still effective in this day and age. What the program won’t tell you is that everything in the program that you actually need, you can find free on the Internet. There are a lot better ways of blowing $300 than buying into Site Build It. One red flag is all the positive reviews I found on Google. Once I looked close, they were all fake because these people writing the fake reviews get $75 per each person who signs up under their affiliate program. That alone should make anyone wary, but Beginners can’t spot fake reviews as easy as advanced marketers.

Pay Per Click Advertising. Sure. You can make a lot of money in a short amount of time with Pay Per Click, aka PPC, but you can loose everything in a blink of an eye if you don’t know what you’re doing. PPC is really for those who have an anal personality. It requires constant attention and lots of knowledge to be successful. The people who I know that do well are always running test to see which ad is effective and they spend loads of money. They’ll be the first to tell you don’t get into it unless your willing to lose a lot of money…kinda like the Stock Market! Once you’ve got some extra money to blow, then go ahead and play with it. But just be prepared to kiss that money goodbye.

MMO blogs. Or better known as Make Money Online blogs. The problem is that most people writing these blogs don’t know how to make money online either. They just recycle stuff already on the Internet and fill their pages full of affiliate links hoping Newbies will click on it. Bloggers like John Chow do a good job of convincing Noobs they need the crap they peddle in order to make money online. Instead, two bloggers you could follow and learn for free are Courtney Tuttle and Griz at Make Money Online For Beginners.

Chances are if you’ve spent any time online you’ve seen a landing page pushing an ebook or make money system that promises you great riches just for buying and following them. Most of these are put out by people who aren’t making any money their self. If you look them up, you’ll find that they are always pushing ebooks on how to make money, but none of their websites that are supposedly making money. Save you money, everything you need to know can be found online for free.

Software that promises to make you money. All the tools you need to make money on the Internet can be found for free. Keyword research tools like Keyword Elite, Word Tracker and others are pretty good, but I can find just as good information using Google for free. I make my living off of the Internet and there are only a few pieces of software I’ve bought and it isn’t any of the ones listed above!

You can be the Newbie that continues to feed the Internet machine or the one who ignores all the hype and learn the real way about making money online. Just follow the above advice and you’ll be on your way in no time. It doesn’t take a lot of money to get started and most of what is being sold online today is nothing more than a tool to get the Noobs money.

If you are looking for fast cash, try learning how to make money with craigslist. You will not believe how simple and easy it is. If that’s not your cup of tea, then there are other ways to make money online, just take your time and look at them all.
